On what he really thinks about the Prada A/W 2007 collection (you have to read between the lines on this one): “We did loose covers in a fabric—something like a coat from Prada, very fluffy—that were used to cover the toilet. We did that.”

We just signed up to be a part of this new Yahoo group that’s obsessed with all things Marc Jacobs and, as it goes, we’re finding ourselves fascinated with the man even more. Here’s some of the comments he made in the recent interview with Aaron from Out Magazine.

Marc Jacobs on Blogs and his new Diet
“The culture we live in now is such a fishbowl that nothing passes without a snarky comment on the Web….You’re going to get a bunch of blogs saying “He must be on meth in order to be that skinny compared to 10 months ago,” but in fact I’m eating a totally organic diet, which has no flour, no sugar, no dairy, and no caffeine, and I lost weight because of that diet and because of a two and a half hour exercise regimen seven days a week.”

After all they’re partially responsible for convincing the entire North American continent that those hot red soles are a paramount of glamour and good taste. You can say what you want about the Olsens and their Louboutins but at least they’re smart enough not to step into chewing gum on the red carpet. Duuhh!)

We’ve been trying to do the perfect “rebellious eyeliner with a little 50’s twist” look a la Sasha P in the Prada ad and it just comes out amatuer on us. Pat McGrath makes it look so easy but it’s really not. It’s almost easier to just buy the stupid Prada bag she’s advertising than paint the cat eye. It’s really frustrating but we’ll keep trying.

Don’t let the angelic face and the puppy purse fool you, Lera Sheremata, the green eyed Ukrainian who opened (or was it closed?) the Marc Jacobs show acted like a certified maniac at fashion week. First she got arrested for smoking in the airplane bathroom. The flight attendants caught her TWICE and then had to call the police. She was told off and released immediately. But that’s just the beginning. Lera’s nuttiest incident on record happened at the Prada show. We hear that Lera was set to open the show (a la Sasha P and Gemma W in the past–a very big deal) but when dressed in the first look Lera told the assistants that she didn’t like it (GASP!!!!) and so they took her off.
