Keep your buttons in the buttonholes…
…or we’ll know how much you really spent on your jackets and shirts. If you ever wonder why designer clothes cost so much this is a film for you–a fashion expert zooms right into the garment’s seams and buttonholes to discover that you get what you pay for.
(As you might imagine, we go absolutely crazy for the condescending sartorial types–the way they touch couture… oh my god)

ohhh, now I’m looking at every cheap thing I’ve ever bought with scrutiny and scorn!!! haha
(and that hem was intentional? somehow I don’t think so…)

great video. I like that they showed the merits of the Simply Vera line because it can give the “couture affect,” because at the end of the day most of us can not afford designer clothes.

what a joke.
the only thing they can do is equate expensive with well made. i’ve had burberry suits fall apart and chloe jeans rip on the first wear before i even left my house in the morning. a high price point does not mean it’s well made and an inexpensive garment doesn’t mean it’s poorly made.
those are nice tips as to what to look for, but lanvin and other major design houses aren’t strictly the place to find them.
