You will read the new Elle and you will like it

We never read American Elle. It just wasn’t good: fashion direction was poor and photography was uninspired. Same tired old Gilles Bensimon over and over and over again. Nausiating. But with this September issue the new team and their man in charge Mr. Joe Zee (creative director) get a six star, two thumbs up and a high-five from us. Photography reminds of Italian Vogue (it’s too close to Meisel’s at times but still in good taste) and the interview with Karl Lagerfeld is BEYOND and a must-read.

Even the Lindsey Lohan bit isn’t totally horrible. All in all A+ …. Beats September Vogue and Bazaar – that’s for SURE.

    Oh,i don’t think so……!

that cover w/ lindsay still makes me wanna puke.

Spooky. I just bought the new Elle today and was saying to myself…gee I really hate this. It reminds me of the overcrowded look of British Elle…then again, I’ve only scanned through, so maybe I shouldn’t be quick to judge. But I certainly could tell a difference when I opened it…immediately in fact. Also the K.L. interview was one of the pages I accidentally came upon, and naturally I HAD TO READ IT RIGHT THEN.Brilliant.

I agree, the cover is not the most daring work of art to ever grace the newsstands but the contents are full of new little fashion ideas and inspiring without being pretentious, just like a womens’ mag should be.

And remember, as much as you may hate her, Lindsey Lohan is bank in terms of newsstand sales… she is

I would buy this issue just because Lindsay is on the cover. She’s hot as hell.

The New Yorker had a great article/interview on Karl, several months back that was very in depth and done by a non-fashion person who wasn’t worried about ad pages.

I call bullshit on hohan looking good. Her hair and skin are the same color. That and her dress make her look like a middle age washed up b & t secretary on friday night.

If this issue of Elle can be that great despite the fact that Lindsay Lohan was on the cover then, then it’s definitely worth reading. Just out of curiousity, how many pages thick is it?
By the way, I love your blog. Would you like to exchange links?

once you get past the cover, the content is pretty good. the photo shoots were a cheap version of Meisel, and that was disappointing. but most Elle readers don’t know who he is anyway. or do they? i wonder.

once you get past the cover(its more like Dina than Lindsay), the content is pretty good. however, the photoshoots were just knock-offs of Meisel, which was a little sad.

lindsay went from cute to crack
she sad and pathetic and should’t be considerd a star

I would never buy a magazine with Lindsey on the cover. That’s just trashy.
