Just in time for men’s fashion week came the Dior Homme S/S 2006 campaign. The model looks like a Romanian drugchild and his suspenders and drainpipe jeans give off a British rockstar vibe. Hm… Nothing in common!
Definitely our favorite campaign so far this seasonMoscow fashion darling Frostfrench has all the

Depressed by the whole beige trend creeping in for Spring 06? Who could blame you? But here’s marigold …

Behnaz, Oscar, Catherine Malandrino… apparently it’s just as trendy and looks hot on fake Italian blondes.

Karl?!?! Ah there you are. (click to enlarge)Fashion week for us is what carnivale is for Brazilians. The wind-up and the spectacle are tremendous but when it’s over you’re back to the routine rice and beans. The next couple of weeks, however, are going to be a feast. Just to give us a taste of what’s to come V Magazine has grandiose panaramic photos of season’s most awaited fashion shows (posted
here ). Breathtaking… [

And deservingly so! Mr. Blackwell’s Charges: Has made a career of releasing an annual list judging the most superficial members of society based solely on their most superficial aspects. Richard’s “Worst Dressed” celebrity lists have all the redeeming qualities of syphilis. Is clearly motivated by jealousy towards young, beautiful women, because he knows he can never be one. Exhibit A: Routinely cited by E!, Entertainment tonight and People Magazine; we’ve got to settle for the Celebrity Justice. Sentence: Teeth extracted with pliers and used to bedazzle Britney Spears’s jean jacket. [Buffalo Beast]

Kate Moss is said to be sick and tired of Sienna Miller taking her magazine jobs and style. Kate once said that she wasn’t bothered with Sienna taking fashion tips from her. But friends of the supermodel say that Kate is furious that Sienna is getting modeling gigs left and right. A source said: “She was loudly saying Sienna was not a professional model and she should be getting front covers – not an actress. Sienna is a real threat because she is younger – and has kept her nose clean. But Kate is not ready to give up her throne.” “She also said how she thought Sienna’s stab at celebrity has failed. Kate said, ‘Sienna has blown it now – she’s had her last chance. But she was never one of us anyhow’.” If we were her we’d be bitter too! source: Dlisted thru Female First

We are wondering if W magazine is simply ripping off the old Louis Vuitton ads in this photo …

W | February 2006 … or are they just considered vintage?

Fashion Week castings and rehearsals are on as the supermodels are beginning to crawl the streets of Manhattan. Strolling through the West Village today we ran into AWOL beauty Daria Werbowy. Still puzzled by her absence last runway season, we were happy to see her looking tan, lean, blond and completely catwalk ready. (You know the girl is a superstar when she turns heads dressed in acid-wash jeans, a low-profile hoodie and ratty old keds). To be honest, all this fashion week commotion is giving us major anxiety. There’s so much to be done:
1. Order business cards that reflect our fabulous personal style
2. Book a Brazillian bikini waxing session (what if Kate Moss is in town?!)
3. Stick to 30 minutes of cross-country a day and get a bliss triple oxygen treatment for that extra glow
4. Get a million dollar haircut that Anna Wintour only wishes she had
5. Hire a slave-boy to fetch fashion show passes from designers. There are just so many of them.*sigh*
It’s overwhelming, really …

The Imaginary Socialite, who recently outed herself as a FWD staffer, reports from the epicenter of hipster nirvana: Last night’s MisShapes was hazy with an occassionaly shower of fake plastic Chanel. There were clouds of Marc by Marc at the bar, and occasional rays of preppy on the dance floor – apparently, ribbon belts are the new jelly bracelet. Red lipstick was still spotted on the horizon, but instances of guys in eye makeup were drastically down. So there, you have it.

The truth of the matter is, they probably didn’t have to photoshop this pussycat all that much for this Spring/Summer 2006 Valentino ad campaign
But who knew Valentino Fashion Group are such fans of Keane? Losers. Can’t stand her and her … um …

Shoes of 2006 are far from subdued. They come in eye-popping colors with five-inch fetishist-wet-dream heels and resemble something you’d see at Scores or Flashdancers. They might impair your walking but significantly enhance your poll-dancing mojo. Can’t wait to try them on at Barneys near us! Dita von Teese would be so proud… (nsfw)

Now that the supa-dupa Jackie O glasses have trickled down to the likes of P. Hilton we have no choice but to move into an entirely different dimension. The square and tiny dimension.

Faran asks Leonard Zagami What will runway hair look like for Fall ’06?
“For fall, I would say a lot of the hair will be down and looser. For spring, a lot of hair was up and away from the face so this season, I think there’ll be more movement. It’ll be down and almost in their faces—that will be fall.
Do European shows want different hair than New York shows?
“Well, I went to Paris with Tourmaline last season to do hair for Sephora. In Paris, it’s unblown or undone, not so pressed down. Even the curls, they’re unfurling or frizzy. That’s very sexy, but American sexy means done, even on young girls. In Paris, sexy means natural.” [FWD]

We advise you to mute Lindsey Lohan AMA karaoke trainwreck when you watch it here, but do check out the dress: those short waistless numbers will be huge among fashion victims like ourselves come spring . And nevermind The Lohan – she somehow manages to make even the hautest couture look like mall grab – it’s the Long Island curse.

The New York Times calls Vogue’s Best Dressed Issue a cliche. Meoww.
NYT: the Vogue swans of ‘05
“I’d like to think that Vogue really captures the essence of what the year meant in fashion terms…” (Anna ♥ Karl).
“Some of the other lists I’ve seen are perhaps more populist, in a way…” (issue #12 = pure PR jerk-off)
“I’d like to think we get more esoteric lists in there, some slightly less expected names, some emerging fashionistas…”
(How about a Year in Worsts ?)

Fashion Week Daily is obsessed with Sofia Coppola’s new movie:
“Why: A New Order song. Jason Schwartzman in pumpkin pants. Duels. Balls. Shipwrecks. Corsets. And Kirsten Dunst looking suspiciously like Madonna circa 1984. Sofia Coppola’s latest film might not debut until Fall 2006, but much like next season’s runways, we’re already obsessed with the possibilities.”
